We are pleased to announce Ato Debrah– Manager, Production Engineering, GNPC as an instructor for the GHBISE Pre-conference Training
Profile of Facilitator
Ato Debrah is an accomplished engineer with over 18 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and currently serves as Manager, Production Engineering at the Ghana National Petroleum Cooperation (GNPC).
His experience spans the full well lifecycle, including exploration drilling, well intervention, and Ghana’s first field decommissioning.
As Deputy Project Lead for the Saltpond Field Decommissioning Project, he led engineering activities, developed the decommissioning strategy, managed the contractor tender process, and oversaw the permanent plugging and abandonment of six wells.
Previously, Ato served as Acting Manager, Training and Competency Development at GNPC, where he led the corporate training plan, competency gap analysis, and performance management system.
This role strengthened his ability to integrate technical expertise with organisational capacity development.
He holds an MSc in Drilling and Well Engineering from Robert Gordon University, an Advanced PG Diploma in Human Resource Management from Eaton Business School, and a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
His professional development includes executive and professional certifications from Harvard Business School, PMI, and other industry institutions.
Ato is a Professional Member of the Ghana Institution of Engineering and has served as an Executive Member of the SPE Ghana Section since 2013.
