In line with SPE Ghana’s commitment to forging and fostering strong partnerships in the upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors, a delegation from the section paid a courtesy visit to COMAC.
The delegates were well received by the Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Riverson Oppong, the SPE Africa Regional Director. Indeed, a moment of pride!
The Section Chair, Mr. Derick Edem Klutsey, expressed profound appreciation for COMAC's support, particularly in the provision of scholarships to student members. He emphasized that the primary goal of the visit was to establish a strong partnership with Ghana’s downstream industry.
Mr. Fiifi Ottoo, the Special Projects Chair, noted that previous engagements had predominantly focused on the upstream sector and highlighted the need to expand SPE Ghana's engagement with the downstream sector to create more opportunities for student members and professionals.
In the course of the meeting, Dr. Oppong pledged to strengthen the ties by providing internship and national service opportunities for students in the downstream sector, offering professional development, and providing continuous financial support through merit-based scholarships. He further extended his heartfelt gratitude to SPE Ghana for rendering their support in the just-ended downstream dialogue.
Special thanks to COMAC for their hospitality.
