Address by Derrick Edem Klutse, Section Chair

It’s with a humble heart and excitement that I announce that I have taken over as the SPE Ghana Section Chair, and I am looking forward to working with my amazing committee heads who have agreed to join me on this journey.  

Our industry plays a pivotal role in our sustainability and has so much potential to transform our lives. It’s key that we use our skills and knowledge to collectively continue to play our part in making sure that those of us in the oil and gas industry contribute our quota to make the world a better place for us all. 

I want to take this opportunity to reiterate the fact that SPE is not only for our engineers, but a family that encompasses everyone that finds themself in the oil and gas industry: be it in finance, business development, social performance, logistics, etc. We work together to provide a service that is so important that by leveraging our volunteering commitments we can learn, share, and build together to create the needed continuity that the industry needs. 

I want to say, “Thank you,” to everyone who has done their part to this point in the SPE Ghana Section. My team and I are looking forward to continuing the good work.
