The SPE Ghana Section Career Guidance & Outreach Committee recently hosted an insightful webinar on Digital Transformation in the Energy Industry. Dr. Jude Kwaku Bonsu, a Lecturer and Researcher at the KNUST Chemical Engineering Department, shared valuable insights on artificial intelligence, automation, and data analytics in revolutionizing the sector. He emphasized the need for students to fully utilize tools like Excel rather than abandoning them too quickly, highlighting its potential for optimization. Dr. Bonsu also reminded participants that the energy industry extends beyond oil and gas producers to include regulators, marketers, and digital tool developers. Additionally, he stressed the importance of affordable digital transformation and ensuring that the price of entry into new technologies is not too steep.
