Address by New Section Chair - Sheena Owusu Ansah

It is with a deep sense of honour that I take on the role of the Society of Petroleum Engineers - SPE Ghana Section Chair. I am humbled and filled with gratitude and a great sense of responsibility to embark on this journey.

I want to express my sincerest appreciation to our Africa Regional Director, Oghogho Effiom, C. Dir. , our Section Directors, Ato Aidoo & Ing. Celestina Yaaba Kissi AMIChemE , our outgone Section Chair, Riverson Oppong, PhD., the entire Ghana Section Board of Directors and Section Officers for your vote of confidence in my abilities. This motivates me to work even harder and strive for excellence in my new role.

I am aware of the possible challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, as I step into this position. I am however inspired by the potential for growth and innovation, and I am therefore committed to dedicating myself wholeheartedly to the responsibilities entrusted to me, and ready to collaborate with each and every member of the society to achieve the goals and vision of SPE Ghana.

Riverson Oppong, PhD. has left really big shoes to be filled, as we can all attest to the phenomenal work he did during his tenure as Section Chair. I am fortunate to be surrounded by a team of talented and dedicated Section Officers and Committee Members and together, I believe we can overcome challenges, seize opportunities, and create a positive impact that we can all be proud of as a section.

I am counting on the unflinching support of all members, and I am confident that together, we will achieve great things.

I am sincerely grateful for this incredible opportunity, and I look forward to the journey ahead.
